The obvious reason to learn a foriegn language is to be able to communicate with people that speak that language. Interpreters need to know foreign languages and diplomats. People that are planning to do humanitarian outreach would definately benefit from learning another or multiple languages. I would think it would be stimulating to the brain and beneficial in mental faculties. Spanish is a good language to learn, we have many spanish speaking people in the U.S., it could help on your job if you work with the public. French is another language that would be good to learn, ther are many canadians that speak French and you may use this language on you job if you work with the pubic as well.
correction: there are many Canadians that speak French and you may need to use this language on your job if you work with the public.
